COLLAGRAPH PRINTMAKING WORKSHOPS

  1. AN INTRODUCTION TO COLLAGRAPH PRINTMAKING
  2. MULTI-COLOUR COLLAGRAPH PRINTMAKING 1
  3. MULTI-COLOUR COLLAGRAPH PRINTMAKING 2

1. AN INTRODUCTION TO COLLAGRAPH PRINTMAKING

An introductory program for those with no previous experience in this technique. Participants will explore a range of materials, textures and surface treatments to each build up a collage plate which is then inked and printed on a press yielding images of remarkable richness and depth – all without the use of acids or other toxic chemicals.

2. MULTI-COLOUR COLLAGRAPH PRINTMAKING 1

In this workshop participants focus on inking up and printing plates applying a number of colours on the same plate to produce multi-colour images in one pass through the press. During the two days a number of different inking and wiping techniques will be explored.

Suitable for those with some prior experience in collagraph techniques.

3. MULTI-COLOUR COLLAGRAPH PRINTMAKING 2

This workshops builds on 'MULTI-COLOUR COLLAGRAPH PRINTMAKING 1' and introduces multi-plate techniques with their associated registration issues.

Participants should have undertaken 'MULTI-COLOUR COLLAGRAPH PRINTMAKING 1' or have a similar level of familiarity with collagraph printing techniques. In longer workshops both multi-colour collagraph programs can be combined.
